Our Ceiba Kapok pillow is crafted in North Carolina. The outer fabric is a 100% GOTS certified undyed organic cotton canvas. This cloud-like pillow is filled with Grade A silky kapok fiber ,making it lightweight, soft, and pure. Like silk, kapok is temperature regulating and wicks off moisture. So, it is warm in winter and cool in summer. This is malleable while using and recovers quickly.
Not familiar with kapok? Kapok is a cellulosic fiber that comes from the soft, fluffy seed covering of the majestic kapok tree, which grows in rainforests and tropical climates. The gigantic tree produces pods, and the kapok fiber is in the pods. The trees continue to produce pods year after year. The pods are harvested without cutting down the tree. Insects are not attracted to the trees, so no pesticides or insecticides are needed for the trees — our kapok fiber is grown naturally. Kapok fiber is the lightest natural fiber in the world, is composed of 80% air, is 8 times lighter than cotton, and is hydrophobic, vegan, and completely natural. Kapok fiber is breathable, clean, and sustainable.
Fill amount is medium and the pillow has a zipper that allows one to remove or add more kapok. Note that the more kapok that is added, the firmer the pillow becomes.
